#75 Pinwheels and Sawtooth |
this is what less than half of what I have completed are on the wall for a preview. Because I already have 75 done, I am really starting to think about setting style. With 9 patch corner stones? With single strip sash with square corner stones? Because the blocks will finish at 6" square each, the sashing should be narrower, like finish at 1". And what colour should the sashing be? Something I call "old barn red" with cheddar-esques corner stones? Perhaps I could get the intended recipient involved in the design and colour process at this time...my own Farm Girl at Heart.
I spent the weekend scrapbooking and I would love to show you those pictures too, but both projects are intended as gifts, so I don't want to spoil the surprise.
Just come home from an Edmonton Oiler's hockey game, "we" beat the Colorado Avalanche 4-1. Go Oilers Go.
love and hugs to all

Your blocks look fantastic!
ReplyDeletethanks Ellen, they really are fun to make.
DeleteWow you have done well with your blocs. Are you sure you should not try a mini Dear Jane with a few less blocks. Someday I will have to get back to my farmer's wife blocks.
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking about a Dear Jane...ever so politely...I have soooooo many quilt to finish, including a RRCB that I started over Christmas. That one I am really excited about. For her red I have replaced it with a very nice blue...not a colour I work with often, but thought I should give it a try.
Delete75 done... and all those points.. good for you! That would put me in an insane asylum=)
ReplyDeletethanks Jackie...would not put you in the asylum. These points are sew sew easy with the easy angle ruler, I am sure you would become just as addicted as I have become. Hi my name is Kathy and I love angles (and points). Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteEach one individually unique. I like that.
ReplyDeletethank you Eileen. I love making them and have tried to stay in the same scrap bin, although there have been a few newcomers of late and the seasons change I want to work with different tones.
DeleteBeautiful blocks! Can't wait to see the sashing.
ReplyDeleteMe too! That could be happening soon. Please check back.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and for leaving a comment.
