Orca Bay Up dates

I have decided to participate in the Orca Bay Mystery Quilt after being made aware of it by my friend and fellow quilter Cathy Tomm and I am new to this whole blogging thing.

However, I do LOVE MQ's.

I chosen a triadic harmony of red/violet, blue/green, yellow orange and black/white.

I can read, but not always successful at the counting side of things...I have ended up with more of everything that I need so far. 234QST's and now 75 string blocks!

  3. I love your blocks and your colors are similar to mine. My hour glasses are black and orange, my strings are purple and my main color will be turquoisy blues.

  5. Wonderful colour selections. It will be very intersting to see how everyone's quilts look when done.

  6. I wonder if this will be helpful - seeing that you have made too many string blocks - one of the Orca Bay quilters posted that she was using telephone book pages, and used the part with the page number on - and cut the correct number of pages to size, and then could keep track of how many she'd done, and how many to go, by looking at the page number. I guess one could also simply write the number onto the page as well. Margaret
